I am a California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT 34899) serving San Ramon, Danville, Pleasanton, Dublin, Livermore and surrounding communities. It is my honor to provide psychotherapy and counseling services to couples, teenagers, individuals, and families within my private practice located in San Ramon.
For over twenty-nine years, I have provided psychotherapy and counseling within a variety of settings to clients struggling with various life challenges. I have successfully treated clients both in short-term and long-term therapy. In addition to providing individual and family therapy, my special interests and extensive experience involves working with couples and teenagers. I have substantial experience with crisis intervention/prevention issues including: depression & suicide, grief & loss, infidelity, child abuse, domestic violence, and substance abuse/dependency.
I obtained both my Master of Science degree in Counseling, and Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from California State University, Sacramento. I continue to enhance my skills as a psychotherapist by staying current with the latest research and education through on-going attendance of seminars, conferences, and workshops, as well as frequent consultations with fellow colleagues.
I am an interactive, cognitive-behavioral therapist with a therapeutic approach of providing support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. I integrate complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. Basically, I like to begin with each new client "right where they are at" in their life in order to obtain a good sense and therapeutic understanding of what they are bringing into therapy and struggling with. This allows me to appropriately assess and determine the best treatment plan for them moving forward.
With compassion, empathy and understanding, I work with clients to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing, whether it be through individual, couples, or family work.
