Therapy Rates

RATES:
I offer both 50-minute and 80-minute sessions for In-Person or Telehealth (phone or video) appointments.  Please call me or send an email to inquire about my current rates.

Additional fees will be charged for professional services rendered that are not part of the standard therapy session, such as:  elongated phone calls (beyond 15 minutes); preparation time of special forms, reports, letters, and court time.   Please inform me at the time of scheduling if such services will be needed.

PAYMENT:
Cash, check and major credit cards are accepted forms of payment, and is collected at the end of each therapy session.

INSURANCE:
As an "Out-of-Network" provider, I do not bill directly to insurance companies, however your therapy services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan.  I am happy to provide you with a "Superbill" (therapy receipt) for you to submit to your insurance company for any possible reimbursement you may be eligible for.

CALIFORNIA VICTIM COMPENSATION BOARD (CalVCB):
I am a mental health provider for the CalVCB.  The CalVCB can help by covering the costs of therapy and expenses that are the direct result of a violent crime.  If you are/were a victim of a crime/abuse, call the CalVCB Helpline at (800) 777-9229 or email at [email protected] for more information regarding eligibility.  I am happy to speak with you in more detail about these services as well.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
Your appointment is a commitment of my time, reserved especially for you. Please provide at least 48 hours notice of any appointment changes or cancellations to avoid a full session fee being charged. If you do not appear for your scheduled appointment, you will be required to pay the full cost of the session. Thank you for being mindful of this policy.

GOOD FAITH ESTIMATE:
YOU, as a client have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining how much your therapeutic services may cost.

Under the new law, No Surprises Act (H.R. 133), Marriage and Family Therapists are required to provide clients who do not have insurance (or who are not using insurance), an estimate of the total expected costs for therapeutic services to be received.

  • This Good Faith Estimate does not include any professional services rendered that are not part of the usual therapy session, such as: elongated phone (or in-person) contacts; preparation of special forms/reports/letters; consultations; and court time.
  • Make sure your therapist provides you with a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your therapy session.  You can also ask your therapist, and any other therapist you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an appointment.
  • If you receive a bill/statement that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill/statement.
  • Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit:www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call (800) 368-1019.
