Michelle Anderson is a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (#101631), working under my supervision within my practice here in San Ramon. She is currently working towards her 3,000 hours to become a licensed therapist, and is looking forward to working with adolescents, adults, families and couples within a private practice setting.
Michelle earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from California State University, Chico. She then went on to earn her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology (Marriage and Family Therapy) from Santa Clara University, and eagerly began working toward her California State licensure.
Michelle has worked as a Teen Dating Violence Prevention Coordinator, educating teens, teachers, and youth leaders throughout the Bay Area about healthy and unhealthy relationships. She has also worked in a school setting, providing counseling services as well as crisis intervention to middle school aged students. Furthermore, Michelle has provided therapy services to domestic violence and sexual assault survivors within the Tri-Valley area, and remains available to support such survivors.
In regards to a special interest, Michelle has a fond interest and experience with LGBTQ+ identified teens and adults regarding issues around sexual orientation and/or gender identity. While a student, she interned at CSU Chico’s Gender and Sexuality Center where she helped to raise awareness and educate students and community members about various issues concerning the LGBTQ+ community.
Michelle Anderson is a member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT) and has earned the state of California 65-hour certification to be a Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Counselor.
As part of Michelle's Associateship, she works closely with me on a regular weekly basis for consultation and guidance regarding her clients (and on an as-needed basis). My goal for Michelle is to assist her in ensuring that all of her client's needs are accurately assessed, diagnosed, and treated. Because Michelle is of Associateship (Intern) status, she is able to offer a lowered fee of $100 for her therapy sessions. If you are interested in the possibility of working with Michelle, please feel free to call her at 925-261-6630, or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
